Read the Good News about Good News Club®!

Gail Joy Marshall and Allison Klabo are in their second series of Clubs at O. M. Tiffany Elementary School in Aberdeen.  I visited with a married couple whose girls went to that club and they loved it!  Gail Joy reported that, over the entire year, they've had at least eighteen children enrolled in their club and 6 of them received Christ!  Praise the Lord for how He is working in the heart of boys and girls at O. M. Tiffany Elementary!

Lindsay Hughes and Stephanie DenOuden are breaking new ground with their Good News Club®!  We have done other forms of ministry at the Boys and Girls Club, but this is the first time we've held a weekly Good News Club there; it's a place where many kids come after school.  They have five children in attendance and as former summer missionaries, Steph and Lindsay are well equipped to share the Good News of Jesus with those boys and girls!  Praise God!

God @ Work Part 3

T

Lindsay Hughes

I'm writing this letter because first of all I believe that God called me to be as summer missionary.   This summer was a great summer, I have to say this summer was a lot more fun than I could ever imagine.  Going to my very first 5-Day Club® was very good but I think it was just because we were at CYIA® training.  I walked into my very first club, and I was so nervous.  I looked at everybody else, and now they were teaching.  They were doing great, it was my turn to teach.  all of a sudden I got up there and I just did what everybody else did.  I was enthusiastic, I was so happy.  I loved this summer, because you can not only have fun with the kids, but you also see God working inside of the kids.  Everywhere I went I saw god working in some mysterious ways through those kids.  Every story I would read, their eyes would just open with excitement waiting to see what happened in the John Payton story, or what's the next Bible story.  It warmed my heart so much to see them so excited to learn about their Savior.  They were just as excited as I was to go to club.

There were also some things that I learned this summer, not only in the kids but also in myself.  I learned that for one thing, there is nothing better in the world than to have a relationship with God.  I have never had such a good feeling in my life than to know that if I need someone to talk to, and nobody else is there, I know that God will be there.  We all had problems this summer with ourselves and growing in our relationship with God.  I think that we all took something out of this summer.  I also learned that I shouldn't care what people think of me.  It doesn't matter what my friends think of me— it matters what God thinks of me.  I just know now that I will always have a place in my heart for God, and that is all thanks to CEF.  If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't of been able to help this summer, and have a great experience.
